Ideal countryside retreat: The Monchique municipality is considered by many to be one of the most unspoilt and stunningly beautiful regions of the Algarve in southern Portugal. As a smaller airport it is susceptible to close in bad weather and your flight could be diverted elsewhere. Geneva - 2 hour transfer. GVA has excellent bus/shuttle links with the most flights & hire car options. Most taxis and coaches take the busy local roads instead of the toll ways and can take 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If you hire a car take the toll roads and you can make it in under 2 hours. Grenoble - 2 1/2 hour transfer.Distances: You can walk down into Mottaret centre in 10 minutes or go up piste to Hameau in much the same time. The regular free shuttle bus 'Meribus' stops at the foot of the access road to take you down into Meribel.You will find a range of shops, bars and restaurants in Mottaret centre and you can go down on foot, or take the Telecabine des Chalets which connects the top and the bottom of the resort. These start early in the morning, and run to early evening and can be used by all free of charge.

Nyons is only 7 kilometres away at the foot of the alps, and there is a very lively market held every Thursday throughout the year, as well as many cafes and restaurants.Chez Hubbert is on 3 floors. The ground floor has the kitchen lounge and terrace; the top has 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom, and the lower floor has 2 more bedrooms and another bathroom, as well as beautiful garden with a fantastic view out over the vines.There are too many wineries to count in the area, as well as other places to sample the delicacies such as the famous Nyons' olives and oils, lavender, apricots, honey and nougat. You won't run out of places to visit or things to see and do. Vaison la Romaine is only 15 minutes away with Roman ruins and a fantastic market market every Tuesday. The house is situated in a 1 kilometer distance from the harbor of Vathy where you can enjoy swimming or take a taxi boat and go to the small gulfs and beaches 5-10 minutes from there. From Vathy you can go to the nearest climbing destinations in 10-15 minutes.Diving : In the island there are 2-3 scuba diving centers, where you can take some diving lessons with a certificate, or just enjoy the experience.Water sports in Massouri beach where you can do water skiing, or water cycling.Sea excursions to the nearest small islands. Local boats organize every day small excursions to beaches all over the island where you can have a pick-nick and enjoy the sun and the sea away from the crowd.Visit Telendos island: every half an hour from the small harbor of Myrties , local boats can transfer you, with only 2 euros per person, in 5 minutes distance to the picturesque island of Telendos. Our holiday home is located in a small romantic village, Mas de Londres, in the historic centre, Quartier Haut, below the former castle (today the presbytery) on the northern slope of the Pic St. Loup. The town is nestled around a small square with a 12th century church, and is surrounded by intense smelling Garrigue and wineries. Stone age menhires, bridges and buildings of roman times, romantic cloisters, St Guilhelm, place de la comedie Montpellier, as well as spectacular canyons in the Cevennes, cirque de Navacelles and gorge de Tarn, caves with stalagmites/stalagtites, excursions on horse or in a glider or a trip in a canoe and fabulous beaches on the Mediterranean sea guarantee an interesting variable holiday time. The nearby village St Martin de Londres offers all possibilities for every day shopping. Montpellier features numerous festivals in summer time with dance, concerts, international guitars and the famous fete de la musique. The origin of the house date to the XII century, it has been remodelled completely and internally renovated with charm and every modern comfort. Located on the top floor is a large living room with an open fireplace in an ambiance of high standard, the large kitchen (partially with romantic paving stones) with mezzanine and terrace, a shower and separate toilet. On the ground floor (with vaulted ceilings) are three bedrooms with double beds and a bath room as well as exit to the garden. The very thick walls guarantee a recreative sleep even at extremely high outside temperatures. The house is surrounded by a shady garden with olive-and palm trees. Under an old nut tree there is a mosaic table (8 seats/ barbecue); an outside illumination provides a romantic spirit at night. The sunny covered terrace on the upper floor offers a magnificent view on the mountains, the rock face of the Herault and the southern Cevennes. The beach on the nearby sea or fresh river waters invite to a swim. Further Details: Mas de Londres, Quartier Haut, is a historically protected area. It consists of the Presbyterium, the Remparts of the former castle and a few houses. The Pic St. Loup heights allow a fantastic panorama view** from the terrace of our house. Towards the south the city of Montpellier can be reached within minutes due to excellent routes and towards the north the heights of the Cevennes (Mt. Aigoual 1567 m) taking brath taking small or bigger more comfortably driven passes within a 1h drive. Wine: The Longuedoc-Roussillon is one of the biggest wine growing areas of France. In former times only a few excellent ones were offered (Tavel, first rosé of France). However, nowadays the quality has increased dramatically, mainly by the initiative of younger wine producers. The wine has a lot of elegance and can be tested at many locations. Special restaurants nearby: Here is a secret for two very good restaurants which offer many of the above mentioned wines: 1st) Auberge de Saugras, 34380 Argelliers, (Tel 0033 (0)467 55 0871 ).You reach it via Viols le Fort, direction Murles ca 12km; 2nd) Hostellerie 'Le vieux chene'34380 Causse de la Selle, (Tel 0033(0)467 73 1100). You go from St Martin d.L. to Frouzet, down to the Herault and up again to Causse de la Selle , ca 15 km. An excellent restaurant (four star restaurant) is in Montpellier: 'Jardin de sens' 11 ave St Lazare (0033(0)499583838.The nearest golf course is ' Golf de Coulondres '. It is located in 34980 St Gély du Fesc,72 rue Énables, Tel 0033 (0)467 84 1375, about 10 km south of Mas de Londres. Characteristics are: 18 holes, 6755m, SSS73. There is a swimming pool and a restaurant. Other golf courses are in: Fontcaude (near Montpellier) 9holes, 6250m; Lamalou les bains, 9 holes, 2600m; St Thomas at Montblanc( near Béziers),18 holes, 6130m ; Cap d'Agde 18 holes, 6130m.

This Maison de Maitre is in the heart of a peaceful village. The house has beautifully appointed rooms which are cool in the summer and warm in winter. The house sleeps up to 10 and has 4 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a swimming pool set in private walled gardens. The kitchen has been modernised and opens onto a patio eating area. The gardens and pool are tended and there is a house keeper in the village. This is an ideal location for a peaceful family stay. The house is located close to Ossun/Lourdes airport with Pau and Toulouse airports within an hour's drive. The village of Ossun has 2 bakeries, a butcher, a mini supermarket and pharmacy. The village is 4 km from the Lourdes, 6km from Tarbes and 30 minutes from Pau. The Pyrenees are a short drive away, ideal for skiing in the winter and multiple outdoor pursuits in the summer. The Atlantic coast is within an hour's drive. There are numerous spas nearby in Bagneres de Bigorre and Cauerets, Jazz in Marciac another draw. Bedrooms: Bedroom 1: King size double bed. The garden has many al fresco eating areas and there is garden furniture and a barbecue which can be utilised. This a large and secure space, ideal for children to play in and for parents to relax without worry. There are football and badminton nets and the village has tennis courts and a lively boules scene!
