Chèvrefeuille, or Honeysuckle in English, is a 16th century three storey townhouse located on the Tarn River in the pleasant village of Brens. It is the perfect spot to explore the beautiful countryside in the South of France including the UNESCO world heritage listed Episcopal City of Albi. Chèvrefeuille has three bedrooms and sleeps seven people. It has the charm of a traditional French maison de ville, a well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and a toilet on each floor. Rising to three storeys, the house is of the heavy timber and brick construction typical of the time, solid and comforting, warm in winter, cool in summer.On the ground floor are living and dining areas with French doors opening onto Rue du Tailleur (Street of the Tailor) and the trees which border the River Tarn. A modern, fully equipped kitchen adjoins the dining area, there is a powder room and a washing machine is located under the stairs. There is a gas fire in the living room area as well as a TV which receives British broadcasts and DVD player. On the first floor is another living/dining area with a large open fireplace where cooking would have been done and the original tiled sink. Alongside is a double bedroom with an antique lit-bateau (boat bed) and with an en-suite bathroom. Casement windows overlook the River Tarn.Two bedrooms occupy the top floor. The main bedroom, with a king-size bed, has a walk-in wardrobe and access to a gallery with 180° views of the Tarn.The gallery is also accessible from the other bedroom (two beds, one double and a single). A bathroom with shower, toilet and basin completes the top floor.The house is centrally heated with large hot water panel radiators in all rooms.The region enjoys a temperate climate with a strong Mediterranean influence modified by winds from the west coast of France and Spain. The summers are long, sunny and dry while spring can bring sudden brief showers in warm balmy days. The autumn is magnificent with clear blue skies; winter is mild and frosts are rare.Getting there and getting around -Brens is about an hour from Toulouse airport by car and there is train station in Gaillac which has lines connecting to Toulouse and the TGV from Paris. The drive from Provence can be readily accomplished in a day. The Department of the Tarn is part of the Midi-Pyrénées region so is relatively close to the stunning Pyrénées mountain range, and is within easy reach of Spain and Andorra.The Tarn is an ideal location and Chèvrefeuille a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions of this area. These include picture perfect villages, scenic drives, lovely provincial cooking, an abundance of vineyards, the Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec museum, and the history of the Cathar religion.Brens is a small and traditional French village. It is a quiet and relaxing place to stay with a local bakery, a bar and a general store. Across the river is the larger town of Gaillac which has good local amenities, a large weekly market, several supermarkets, banks, restaurants and a tourist information office.

If you want a big mall you'll have to take the Urban Train, but I doubt this will be interesting for you... :-)

New villa with a wonderful view to the Ions coast in Badolato Marina, South of Italy This new villa is placed on a hill with a wonderful view over the Ionian coast. The villa is part of a complex with shared swimming pool, a pool for small children and a tennis court. The Villa (100 m2) has two terrace (27 m2) and two gardens. If you arrive in August you can pick ripen grape in the garden (180 m2).There are 3 bedrooms. One bedroom with double bed with direct access to terrace and one bedroom with double bed and a baby bed is available on 1st floor. The last bedroom is placed at the ground floor with 2 twin beds. There are two bathrooms in the house, one bathroom with shower, WC and washing machine on the ground floor and the other bathroom with shower and WC is placed on 1st floor.The kitchen encloses main kitchen equipment including fridge with freezer, dishwasher and oven. There are air-conditioning and central heating in all rooms. There is no internet connection in the house but internet access can be found in Soverato.You are 5 minutes walk from a supermarket, pizzeria and the little town Badolato Marina. 5-10 minute walk to the sandy beach. Two sun beds and one umbrella will be available for you (only in the summer season). There is a small harbor 10 minutes walk from the villa.

The 19th century country house, restored to its former manor-like glory, features Moorish style doors and windows, parquet flooring, antique furniture and rugs, stylish bathrooms and a splendid roof terrace with sweeping views of the ocean and the hill country, «a serra» as they call it. The house has a large and beautiful south facing garden with stunning views across the Aveyron, Southern France countryside. The pool is 11m x 5m and has a salt water purification system. The four storey house sitting in its own exclusive grounds has been restored in the last three years by its English owners. You can hire skis in both Mottaret centre and above the apartment in Le Hameau.Travel: Chambery - 1 1/4 hour transfer. CMF is the closest but has few flights. As a smaller airport it is susceptible to close in bad weather and your flight could be diverted elsewhere. Geneva - 2 hour transfer. GVA has excellent bus/shuttle links with the most flights & hire car options. Most taxis and coaches take the busy local roads instead of the toll ways and can take 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If you hire a car take the toll roads and you can make it in under 2 hours. Grenoble - 2 1/2 hour transfer.Distances: You can walk down into Mottaret centre in 10 minutes or go up piste to Hameau in much the same time. The regular free shuttle bus 'Meribus' stops at the foot of the access road to take you down into Meribel.You will find a range of shops, bars and restaurants in Mottaret centre and you can go down on foot, or take the Telecabine des Chalets which connects the top and the bottom of the resort. These start early in the morning, and run to early evening and can be used by all free of charge.
